Abstract
The target groups are adults and adolescents with a reasonable suspicion of significant psychological stress. Therefore, in addition to the obvious areas of hospital and rehabilitation, outpatient emergency and care services as well as counseling centers, e.g. for stressed target groups such as students seeking advice, are also areas of application.
Description
The BSCL measures a person's subjectively perceived impairment by 53 physical and psychological symptoms using a time window of seven days and offers a multidimensional evaluation with the option of repeated measures. Psychological distress is assessed via nine scales (AGGR = aggressiveness/hostility, ANGS = anxiety, DEPR = depressiveness, PARA = paranoid thinking, PHOB = phobic anxiety, PSYC = psychoticism, SOMA = somatization, UNSI = insecurity in social contact, ZWAN = obsessiveness) and three Global Characteristics Scores (GSI, PSDI, PST). The BSCL is the short form of the 90-question SCL-90®-S.
