Description

The LPS-2 surveys cognitive performance based on John Carroll's theory of intelligence (3-level theory). The eleven subtests (1: General Knowledge, 2: Anagrams, 3: Figure Sequences, 4: Number Sequences, 5: Letter Sequences, 6: Mental Rotation, 7: Area Count, 8: Line Pattern, 9: Eighth Sign, 10: Line Comparison, 11: Adding) operationalize first-order factors that can be combined into four second-order factors (Gc: Crystalline Intelligence, Gf: Fluid Intelligence, Gv: Visual Perception, Gs: Cognitive Speed). All test performances together serve to estimate general cognitive performance as a third-order factor.
