Abstract
The Scale of Emotional Development - Diagnostic (SEED) helps to adjust the care of people with intellectual developmental disorder to the basal emotional needs of the clients, so that they can live more in harmony with themselves and their environment. At its core is a comprehensive questionnaire with an evaluation profile.
Description
Within the framework of a semi-structured interview with close caregivers, the behavior of the subject is assessed in various everyday situations, e.g., eating, washing or dressing, interacting with caregivers or with peers. This interview includes eight domains, each of which describes and inquires about a specific part of emotional development. In each domain, five successive stages of development are described, corresponding to the emotional reference age from 0 to 12 years. There are five items per phase, which are scored as "yes" or "no." Knowledge of developmental psychology is required for the diagnostic classification of the observation items.
