The LeSek 5-9 is used to diagnose a reading disability in students in grades 5 through 9.

The LeSek 5-9 is used to assess reading competencies at the secondary level (grades 5 to 9). The test includes tasks at word, sentence and text level, which are divided into three sections. In the first section, "Single words," word-like pseudowords and foreign words must be read aloud. In the second area "work instructions", markings have to be made in texts according to certain criteria. In the third section, "Texts", three texts must be read (silently) in succession and the contents then reproduced.
