Abstract
Capturing logical-mathematical thinking in the context of selecting and developing decision makers in organizations.
Description
The Rust Advanced Numerical Reasoning Appraisal (RANRA) is the ideal instrument for assessing logical-mathematical reasoning in the context of selecting and developing decision-makers in organizations. Unlike other tests that measure logical reasoning when dealing with numerical material, RANRA includes tasks that require higher cognitive processes of deduction, interpretation, and evaluation to solve.

The following measures contribute to the assessment of performance:

Subtest 1: Comparison of quantitative information.
Subtest 2: Assessment of whether specific mathematical facts can be deduced from given information.

The test items are most efficiently solved using higher cognitive processes that are elicited through repeated successful application of mathematical operations. Merely applying mathematical calculation rules tends to complicate the solution process.

RANRA was developed as a perfectly fitting complement to the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGCTA), the global standard for measuring critical thinking.
