Description
The CTONI-2 uses nonverbal formats to measure general intelligence of children and adults whose performance on traditional tests might be adversely affected by subtle or overt impairments involving language or motor abilities. Six subtests (Pictorial Analogies, Geometric Analogies, Pictorial Categories, Geometric Categories, Pictorial Sequences, and Geometric Sequences) measure analogical reasoning, categorical classification, and sequential reasoning.
Two different types of stimuli are used: pictures of familiar objects (e.g., people, toys, animals) and geometric designs (i.e., unfamiliar sketches and drawings).
