Abstract
The CRE-W is used with people aged 18 and over as part of aptitude diagnostics, personnel or team development to record creative ways of thinking and acting in everyday professional life. The CRE-W is applicable across industries and fields of activity.
Description
Creativity has been described as one of the most important economic resources. Research has shown that creativity is one of the characteristics most needed to cope with the current complex business environment. As a result, it is a key competency for many companies and Chief Innovation Officers (CIO) are increasingly being added to business boards.
The CRE-W assists organizations in personnel selection and development by assessing how candidates* respond to situational, realistic work problems. It measures test takers' ability to innovate and the likelihood that they will use their creative initiative in the workplace.
The CRE-W is a "scenario test," also called the Situational Judgement Test. It presents a series of 19 scenarios that represent dilemmas that might typically arise at work. For each, there are four to six different possible solutions. For each solution approach, the test person must indicate how likely it is that he or she would act accordingly.
The assessments provide information on underlying tendencies towards the general tendency to think and act creatively, the so-called creative initiative, as well as the novel (divergent) and the different (convergent) creative thinking style in working life. The implementation and evaluation is carried out electronically in the HTS. In addition to the profile diagram, the evaluation includes an individual narrative test interpretation.
