Abstract
The FREDI 0-3 is suitable for a broad assessment of the developmental status of infants and toddlers up to the age of three. In neuropediatrics, early intervention or educational counseling, it provides indications of developmental delays and support needs.
Description
The test allows the diagnosis of the general developmental status and covers the areas of motor skills, language, cognitive and social-emotional development. The FREDI 0-3 provides a comprehensive overview of the child's strengths and weaknesses for support diagnostic questions. With the hand puppet Fredi, a mouse, the test leader accompanies the playful tasks for the different age groups. Attractive materials and illustrations as well as clear instructions enable children and test administrators to conduct the test in an appealing manner.
For each developmental area, information is obtained from parents in addition to the items to be performed by the test administrator. Norms were collected from a sample of more than 700 German children, from which developmental delays or advances of the children tested can be inferred.
